On March 30, 2020, GTA's specialty process production line, located in the Lingang New Area of Shanghai, officially began the tape-out process. In a short period of time, the GTA project has achieved a remarkable transformation from nothing to existence and into pilot production, injecting significant momentum into the development of China's semiconductor industry! In a short period of time, the GTA project has achieved a remarkable transformation from nothing to existence and into pilot production, injecting significant momentum into the development of China's semiconductor industry! Previously, in intense competition with many peers, TG Environment successfully won the bid for the wastewater treatment works of GTA's specialty process production line. The execution of this works has significantly strengthened the cooperative relationship between both parties and added a significant and colorful stroke to TG Environment's expertise and advancement in the business of wastewater treatment for the integrated circuit industry. Throughout the execution of the works, TG Environment assigned a highly professional and capable project team. The team meticulously designed and planned the works, and perfected the construction organization. Especially after the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, all members of the project team placed great emphasis on epidemic prevention and control work, implementing necessary safety measures. They remained united and steadfast on-site, ensuring the project schedule was completed on time. In this way, they contributed their efforts to the successful tape-out of the project.

[Background information]
The GTA Specialty Process Production Line Construction Project is the first integrated circuit project under the strategic cooperation agreement between China Electronics Corporation and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. The project commenced construction in August 2018, with equipment moved in by December 2019, involving a total investment of CNY35.9 billion. The first phase of the project includes: Establishing an 8-inch production line using 0.11-micrometer (μm) process technology with a capacity of 60,000 wafers; building a 12-inch pilot production line using 65-nanometer (nm) process technology for advanced analog circuits with a capacity of 3,000 wafers; and constructing a 6-inch pilot production line for Silicon Carbide (SiC) wide bandgap semiconductor power devices with a capacity of 5,000 wafers. The products will primarily target application areas such as new energy vehicles and heavy industrial equipment, with a focus on developing power devices and specialty processes like BCD technology.
Upon completion of the project, it will establish world-class production capabilities for power semiconductor devices, and focus on the manufacturing and support of analog circuits and power devices. In addition, this project is of vital significance for further assisting Shanghai in perfecting its layout as a high ground for the integrated circuit (IC) industry. It also plays a crucial role in supporting China's efforts to build an IC industry system characterized by continuously improving innovation capabilities and expanding industrial scale.
